The change of season often calls for a celebration. What better way than to enjoy a fancy cocktail that's actually easy to concoct. Sofitel Melbourne On Collins shares its Whisky Sour recipe that will likely become one of your favourite evening indulgences.
Ingredients for Whisky Sour
1 part Bourbon
1 part lemon juice
1 part Simple Syrup
1 egg white
Cubed ice
Orange peel and/or cherry to garnish Ingredients for Simple Syrup 1 cup white granulated sugar
1 cup boiling water Method for Simple Syrup Combine sugar and boiling water in a small saucepan. Warm on a low heat while stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer gently for about 1 minute and then turn off heat. Pour into a clean jar or bottle and leave to cool. The mixture will thicken slightly on cooling. Make the Whisky Sour Add all the ingredients (except garnish) into a cocktail shaker or jar and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds. Strain into a short glass or coupe (extra ice optional) and garnish with orange peel or cherry.
