SolarBuddy partners with Affluent Society

SolarBuddy, a charity uniting a global community to illuminate the futures of all children, announces a partnership today with Affluent Society, a global business, lifestyle and social media owned by Platinum Circle, the world's leading business group consisting of corporations with annual revenues exceeding USD100 million, governments and intergovernmental organisations.

SolarBuddy will serve as an expert voice on content related to energy poverty, sustainability, innovative design, solar lights and encourages greater collaboration between its beneficiaries, donors and partners with Affluent Society as its official media.

Simon Doble, CEO of SolarBuddy, will serve as a contributor to Affluent Society. He will share insights, stories and news on SolarBuddy’s work to end extreme energy poverty across the world with readers and followers. "We are honoured to introduce this global issue to a broad, diverse and influential audience and invite our customers to engage the Affluent Society community," said Simon.

"We are delighted to support SolarBuddy as part of our engagement with social enterprises in Australia and globally. Working together allows our readers and followers to better understand the global energy service deficiencies and how our community can learn from SolarBuddy's successes, failures and address this issue in a wider context, said Ashley Sim, Associate Editor of Affluent Society.

Lionel Lee, Advisor to Affluent Society added, "We already know that over 1 billion people have no access to affordable and sustainable energy services, especially in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Affluent Society's engagement of best practices in our media and content together with SolarBuddy brings greater attention to this problem.

About SolarBuddy: SolarBuddy is a charity uniting a global community to illuminate the futures of all children. One of the biggest obstacles we face is extreme energy poverty. It is a complex challenge, impacting the health and well-being, educational outcomes, and economic stability of the communities experiencing it as well as our environment. But we are motivated by big challenges, and the impact we can make by working towards achieving our two goals. Firstly, to gift six million solar lights to children living in extreme energy poverty by 2030, while simultaneously, educating six million people globally about extreme energy poverty. We will never stop creating new ways to fight this challenge. We see a brighter future for all children, and by learning, creating, and working together we light the way there. Learn more at
