What’s so good 😊?

Established in 1983, probably the longest and one of the oldest-running of Japanese Yakitori restaurants in Singapore 🇸🇬.

It’s been their 30 Years of Authentic Japanese Yakitori @ Far East Plaza, their flagship restaurant. Another one @ Chinatown Point Mall...

Similarly, It was exactly 3 decades ago... then my lovely & beautiful ex-girlfriend brought me here to enjoy real Japanese cuisine... certainly brought back many fond memories of togetherness of yesteryears... 😱😮 Well, it’s just pure memories as fate do us good ! ... 😓

Indeed, an eye opening for me to the intricate, beauty & culinary of Japanese 🇯🇵 cuisine ... 🍱🍣🍢🍡🦪🍜🥟🍲🍝🥫... from Sushi, Sashimi, California roll, Ramen, Udon, Tempura to Yakitori ! 😮 🤩

As I had made prior reservation to the restaurant @ 1:30pm, for just myself alone ... to savoury this Yaktori Bento 🍱 !

I had chosen the front seat where U can see the Yakitori Chef 👨‍🍳 in action at their grill, as they BBQ the skewers with great passion, occasionally sprinkle some light salt over the food b4 dipping into their homemade sauces prior to serving customers ... 😮 🤩

This simple art of cooking with the finest ingredients over an open flame is evident from meats tsukune (chicken meatballs), which are nicely charred on the outside, while its insides explode with great fragrance & flavour ✅.

My set B comprises :

1. Asparagus wrapped with pork meat slices in wooden skewer.

2. Chicken with leek in wooden skewer.

3. Chicken meat balls 🎱 in wooden skewer.

4. Pork seasoned with garlics 🧄 in wooden skewer.

5. Shiitake mushrooms 🍄 in wooden skewer.

6. Japanese Rice 🍚 w/ seaweed and to blend w/ sweeten minced pork & braised mushroom 🍄

Garnished with finely cut cabbage 🥬 ; cut slices of radish and carrot 🥕 + preserved slices of cucumber 🥒 + sliver foil cup of their Japanese authentic soya bean paste (my favourite - salted and tasty) ... got 2 extra toppings servings 🤣.

All BBQ cooked well and well marinated with charred burnt at good sides, giving U that kind of smokey feeling, with juiciness oozes out, flavourfully and tastefully carries out well ! 😮 🤩 ⭐️ 👍

Sipping the miso soup w/ tofu + seaweed : simply tasted great too ! And finishing off with the brewing Green Tea 🍵 for great digestion ! 😮 🤩
