Ordered my all-timed favourite of 1 single plate of Chicken meat @$5.00 and rice @ $0.60 x2; barley drink @ $3.00. Total : $9.20 w/o GST yet ... missing in the menu : Roasted Char Siew Belly meat 😓

What’s so good 😊?

It’s been more than 8 months since I set foot here. Personally, I liked the ambience especially this flagship shop, modelled like a “classy feel” with the Old School incandescent lighting and the checkered patterns cloth on its table ... 😮 🤩

As I was their no. 2 customers during noon time, the business climate outlook for the shop 👀 rather bleak; without tourists with Indonesia 🇮🇩 & 🇨🇳 ; missing bus load of tourists which usually packed the place in the afternoon to evenings ... Nevertheless, thankfully it stays open😮

Within 5 mins of waiting, food being served. Piping hot 🔥 bowl of rice 🍚 and I requested for a plate and fork 🍴 and spoon 🥄 for my easy eating 🍽 🤣

The X-factors :

1. Fragrance Pandan flavoured and chicken fat infused Chicken rice 🍚, served piping hot 🔥 is my no.# 1. ⭐️

2. Tenderised and generous breast meat chicken de-boned except for wing ... 😮 🤩 ⭐️ 👍

3. It’s spicy hot garlic 🧄 chillies 🌶 added sweetener (less sweet shall be better !) ⭐️

One bowl of chicken rice never enough and I can literally eat the rice with chillies 🌶... Oh yes, don’t ask for any soup 🥣: as they never give ! As all channel to simmer the chicken and the rice with their chicken fat ...🤣

Last year, I had watched a documentary from MediaCorp that showcases Singapore Food Heritage - Chicken Rice. Boon Tong Kee was featured and I had very good impression with the way they cooked the chicken, it’s selection criteria, it’s cooking methodology, cold bath to retain its succulent and tenderised, it’s business philosophy. Even, their meetings with outlet managers, conducting taste test of their chicken rice 🍚 ! So, I can appreciate their F&B and high standards + premium pricings😮 🤩 ⭐️ 👍
