What’s so good 😊?

Had known this stall since it was at Tiong Bahru market for more than 3 decades ago ... had since moved and settled down here @ Alexandra Village Food Centre for the longest time thereafter ... 😮 🤩

This stall owner - 2 brothers had been together since the longest time too ! producing hundred of thousands of Shui Jing Pau (Crystal bun) ever since it started ... 😮 🤩

From the special flour mixed, dough created, flatten, rolled over and formed and cut in circle ⭕️ patterns and removed. Then the fillings made from Turnips & strips of mushrooms w/ shrimps added salt to fried to taste ; yam 🍠 paste sweeten & red bean paste sweeten. Thankfully 😅 not too sweet ... managed to capture a helper in action sequentially and seeing is believing ! 😮 🤩 ⭐️ 👍

I had patiently waited for the Yam paste and red bean to be ready before I made the purchased. So, managed to get a set of their best selling Shui Jing Pau ever in Singapore 🇸🇬. (I have not seen any competitor to the stall after so many years ...)

It’s hand 🖐 🤚 crafted individually (like a dumpling 🥟 and clip at the side to close, then bring to steam wok to cook and best of all, after cooked ... it changes to become translucent... 😮 🤩

I liked all 3 flavours as it’s uniqueness stands out individually ... 🤩

1. Turnips ($0.90) - crunchy with mushroom 🍄 strips and fried with small shrimps and added salt to taste. (Also known as Salty type)

2. Yam 🍠 paste ($1.00) - sweeten and great smooth texture. (Also known as sweet but whiter in colour)

3. Red Bean paste ($1.00) - sweeten and smooth and can literally see through as it turn to become black colour (also known as Sweet)

With the Turnip Shui Jing Pau, It’s great to pair it with their homemade sambal chillies 🌶 (he shall scoop for U), shall give U that extra oomph and kick 🦵. One is never enough !

To me, indeed it has seen it’s fair share of price inflation and the Shui Jing Pau becoming an Old School/ tradition through age ... 😮

Limited stock available daily, whilst stock last ... usually Q, come @ 11:00am best time ! 😮 🤩

It’s Shui Jing Pau ... Yummily 😋 Great 👍!
