Had alighted pax at Lorong 35 Geylang, my database search pops up : this Duck 🦆 stall, whose magnet 🧲 too strong too resist, instead of the Hainanese Curry rice stall just opposite... 😮 🤩
In anyway, it’s been a long long while since I am here ... let’s “duck-in” to eat this braised duck 🦆 after photo eats 1st.
It’s braised sauce or thicker sweetened gravy is something that shall appeal though not the usual braised sauce that Teochew stall has, or expect to have. It’s tenderised meat chopped cleaned and layout, garnished with topping of coriander leaves, spring onions, shallots, tau gek (bean sprouts) onto sliced herbalised braised duck meat, duck liver slices, sliced quarters of braised eggs, sliced tau kwa (bean curd), cucumber 🥒 slices + braised peanuts sweetened🥜 , with a grand finale of sweetened dark gravy on TOP of it all ... 😮 🤩 ⭐️ 👍
It’s rice, infused with soya sauce (maybe with their sauce too!) - darker brown in colour, rice grain type just 👌 and added with their homemade thicker sweeten sauce into it too ! (May be overkill if u may dislike the sweetened sauce taste.
It’s chillies sauce - sambal chillies 🌶 just a bit at centre of another type of vinegar chillies, tasted so so ... 😮
Then, sipping it’s bowl of clear cabbage 🥬 soup, smell of herbalised though but tasted a little sweeter than usual ... 😮
At $9.00 for a single person maybe grossly overpriced but ... from the historical side of it, with 40 years or more at their side + 3 brothers obesed and pretty united in strength, dressed in their similar black Ts and black pants; helming the stall shall give pride to this braised duck 🦆 reputation ! 😮 🤩
You definitely need to have a sweet tooth to love it 😍! 😮
Btw, U may also need to stomach the very seasoned table and plastic chairs, as the Coffeeshop or eating house is overdue for overhaul to catch up with times. As for me, I placed my criteria to enjoying the food, the smell, the people, of course, good food = happy people !
