Brisbane: A City Submerged Exhibition by Museum of Brisbane

Photo courtesy of Museum of Brisbane

January marks a decade since Brisbane and its surrounding areas were submerged by the 2011 floods. To mark ten years since the floods, Museum of Brisbane has commissioned local artist Holly Neilson of Paper Hands to respond to a selection of memories from locals about the inundation that swallowed the city, but not its sense of mateship and comradery. Holly Neilson is a Brisbane-based artist whose work has been featured in exhibitions and media outlets nation-wide. Her illustrations for this virtual exhibition have been animated by Sai Karlen of Thirteen Digital, who has helped bring the stories to life.
