Costa Rica: Calypso, the Caribbean folkloric Music!



In Costa Rica, the Calypso entered the port of Limón in 1871 at the hands of black workers from Jamaica, Barbados and Saint Kitts, hired to build the railway that would link the Caribbean coast with the Central Valley.


Currently, the main performers are Grupo Cantoamérica and Manuel Monestel.
