What’s so good 😊?
With more than 50 years of frying Kway Teow Mee under his belt, Queue time of at least 15 mins to 40mins, this man Mr Loh, is a no nonsense but humble stall owner that he is proud of his single product !
Came over from Margaret drive market, built up his name and reputation there, came to Telok Blangah Crescent more than 8 years ago, that’s open up my love for his Char Kway Teow Mee !
One man show, he believes in whipping his Char Kway Teow Mee at every plate, he shall pre-fried 1st with garlics and pork lard pieces for its intense fragrance, so that the Kway Teow Mee texture get soften and coated. Then, he takes on individual order (with a cap of 10 pkts per order); he would crack the egg with his trusted metal spatula inside his 🔥 fiercely wok and individually fried it, add water, fried a few more times, add chillies 🌶, if u asked for it ! add fresh cockles into it, fried then packet it or put onto plate. No other ingredients ! Except just egg 🥚 & cockles ! 😮 🤩 ⭐️ 👍
With little or no carbon spotted on his plate, as I easily cleaned it off... leave no food remnants behind ! 😮 it’s rarely oily nor too dry or too wet but just perfect at every time I buy ... consistency = regular customer 😮 🤩
What’s so unique ?
It’s wok hei taste and crunchy pork lard and his wok 🔥 skill amazingly great to watch, as I observed from a distance. As he need to stand most of the time, his knee cartilage get worn out and he had to wear a knee guard to strengthen and to prevent further damage.
Before handing the plate of fried Char Kway Teow Mee to me, he has the habit to clean up grease off the edge with a cloth to ensure its clean & well presented.
It’s the amazing taste that made him one of the Char Kway Teow Mee legendary in local scene... to me ! 🤣 It’s Yummily 😋 Great 👍!
